PUBLIC NOTICE

Subject: Verification of AICTE Approval status of an Institution-reg.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), a statutory body under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, was established by an Act of Parliament (Act 52 of 1987). The Council is entrusted with the responsibility of planned and coordinated development of the technical education system across the country. The AICTE's purview covers “technical education programmes”, means programmes of education, research and training in Engineering Technology, Town  Planning, Management, Applied Arts and Crafts, Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Computer Applications and Design etc. at different levels. It is mandatory for all institutions to obtain prior approval from the AICTE to offer any technical program.

2. It has been observed that parents, students, and other stakeholders men face difficulty in confirming the AICTE approval status of institutions. To facilitate this, stakeholders are advised to verify approval details directly through the AICTE website at the following link:

              https://facilities.aicte-india.org/dashboard/pages/angulardashboard.php#!/approved

3. It is clarified that, as per the AICTE Act, 1987, and the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India dated 24th September 2001 in Bharathidasan University vs. AICTE, Universities do not require prior approval of AICTE to conduct technical programmes. However, technical institutions affiliated to Universities, Institutions deemed to be Universities, and institutions offering PGDM programmes do require such approval.

4.  AICTE also maintains a list of unapproved institutions based on information received from various sources.  This list is published on the AICTE website at the following link:

          https://facilities.aictc-india.org/dashboard/pages/angulardashboard.php #!/unapproved

Institutions found conducting unapproved courses are regularly notified through public notices and individual communications, under intimation to the respective State Governments, with directions to either seek AIfi7“E approval or discontinue such programmes. State Governments are also advised to take appropriate action against such erring institutions.

In light of the above, all stakeholders are strongly cautioned against taking admission in unapproved institutions. Any information regarding unapproved institutions offering technical programmes without AICTE approval may be reported to the Council at link https://facilitles.aictc-india.org/report/.

This notice is issued for the information and interest of the public and all stakeholders.
